Austin Leduc

Austin Leduc (Cornwall, Ontario, 2001), holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Theology with a Minor in Human Relations and Spirituality from Saint Paul University in Ottawa, graduating in 2024. He is currently pursuing part-time a Master's in Canon Law (MCL) and a Licentiate in Canon Law (JCL), alongside a graduate microprogram in Safeguarding Minors and Vulnerable Adults and a graudate microprogram in Penal Law, Jurisprudence, and Procedures at Saint Paul University. 

In addition to his academic pursuits, since 2019, Austin has been employed at Saint Paul University in various capacities. He began as a Work Study student in the Pastoral Care Department before advancing to the roles of Support Agent and Interim Coordinator. In early 2024, he joined the Centre for Safeguarding Minors and Vulnerable Adults as the Coordinator of Special Projects, where he oversaw two International Conferences and numerous events. Currently, Austin serves as the Assistant to the Director of the Centre for Safeguarding Minors and Vulnerable Adults.

Austin's article, "Artificial Intelligence and the Right to Privacy: Human Dignity in Canonical Relationships in the Light of Humanitas Magnifica and the Catholic Church Sexual Abuse Crisis—Emerging Ethical Questions of Trust" has been accepted to be presented at the upcoming International Conference Trust and Dialogue in the Catholic Church: Rethinking Power and Relationship Dynamics, at Saint Paul University from 13-16 October 2026.
